Gathering and Analyzing Data in Microsoft Excel

 

 

Getting Started:          

1.   Log on, go to Start, Programs, Students and click Microsoft Excel. 

2.     Go to the yellow folder to open files.

3.     Go to Look In: and  scroll down to: Sshare on Midway (L) and click once.

4.     Click the Excel folder and then click OK.

5.     Click the graphs.xls file and then click OK.

6.     Click Read Only button.

 

Pets:  The Pie Graph

1.     In Cell B2(dogs) type 7.  Press Enter.

2.     In Cell B3(cats) type 5.  Press Enter.

3.     In Cell B4(birds) type 3. Press enter.

4.     In Cell B5(fish) type 4.  Press enter.

5.     In Cell B6(horse) type 2. Press enter.

6.     Notice the percentage of each pet.  What percent are cats?____

 

Colors:  The Bar Graph

1.     In Cell B13(red) type 10.

2.     In Cell B14(blue) type 8.

3.     In Cell B15(yellow) type 3.

4.     In Cell B16(green) type 2.

5.     In Cell B17(purple type 5.

6.     In Cell B18(pink) type 6.
