Add a Background:
1. Right click on composition area. Click Page Properties.
2. Click the background tab.
3. Click Background Image then click the browse button to add from a file.
4. Select from the color choices for a solid background.
5. Click OK to close the page properties window.
Inserting Text:
1. Click the style drop down menu in the formatting toolbar and select type.
2. Select the font desired.
3. Check the alignment icon for orientation and begin typing.
4. Edit for size, color and style by highlighting text and making selection on
toolbar.
Remember to hold shift/enter when typing text directly below to the next line.
Capturing Images from the Internet
1. Open Internet Explorer and locate the graphic on the web.
2.. Right click on top of the graphic and click Save Picture As.
3. Locate your H:\ drive. Double click open the FrontPage folder(or
appropriate folder). Double click graphics folder and save.
Inserting Graphics
1. Go to the Insert Image icon on the toolbar.
2. Click and wait for window to pop up.
3. Click the browse button at the end of the from file field.
4. Locate your H: drive and double click the FrontPage folder.
5. Click open the graphics folder and select the graphic.
Editing Graphics
1. Right click the image and select Image Properties.
2. Click the appearance tab at the top.
3. In the border thickness box, select zero(0). This prevents a box from
forming around the image.
4. If you desire your text to appear in a different orientation to your object you
would select an option from the alignment box. ( For example: middle would place the
text beside the image.
5. To resize the image, highlight the image and drag the handlebars to resize.
Create Hyperlink
1. Highlight the text or graphic that will be the link.
2. Go to the Internet, locate page to link and highlight the entire URL.
3. Do a copy. (Ctrl - C)
4. Go back to FrontPage. Click the earthlink icon. Select http: for the
type of link.
5. The URL should be pasted in the field.(Ctrl - V)
6. Click OK.
Creating a
Link to E-mail
1. Highlight the image or text that will be the link It should display the
handles.
2. Click the earthlink icon.
3. Clear the URL field.
4. Click the field, hyperlink type and select mailto:
5. In the URL type your e-mail address. (ex: name@forsyth.k12.ga.us)
Saving Your Page
1. Go to File, Save As.
2. Enter the title of your page in the appropriate field.
3. Click As File, to open to save in your H: folder or save to a disk ( drive A:)
Viewing
Your Page in Internet Explorer
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to File on the menu bar and select open.
3. Click the check box in front of the Words "Open as a Web Folder."
4. Click the Browse button and go to your H: drive and locate the folder that
contains your web page.
5. Double click the folder and the web page you wish to open.
6. Be sure the check box in front of the words " Open as Web Folder" is
checked.
7. Click Open. When the next dialog box appears click Yes and your web page
will
Launch. Check your links!
