The COWs are Coming!
The student notebook carts are visiting many classrooms for orientation. The COWs, as we fondly call them (Computers on Wheels), are greeted with much enthusiasm by our students. Before you use the notebooks in your classroom, you must coordinate a time with me to conduct an orientation with you. Over the next few weeks I will be contacting you to set up a time to discuss curriculum and a time to visit your classroom for the orientation.
We are using instructional templates on some of these first time visits to the classroom. Folders on the student share drive at each grade level contain some of the templates that are being created. Please save templates that you have created in these folders called #Our Work so all students and teachers can use them.

Remember when you make a template in Inspiration or Kidspiration, you need to make it read only!

How To Make a Template Read Only

  1. Open Microsoft Explorer
  2. Locate the template.
  3. Rright click on it to select it.
  4. Left click and select properties.
  5. Cick to select the Read Only box.
  6. Click OK.

There are many sites on the web that offer online stories. These are book marked in Favorites under Language Arts>Reading Stories. Stories are read outloud and some you can manually read and turn the pages at your own pace. These sites are wonderful resources to compliment your language arts curriculum. Check out Reading Workshop as well for some awesome online activities.
