Board Resources and Tips |
Engage
your students with ACTIVstudio!

Second
graders were recently involved in investigating our United States
symbols. To kick off the unit they learned about the Statue of
Liberty using the first flipchart above. Using other resource
materials, the board and classroom computers, the students completed
the tasks in the Statue of Liberty flipchart and moved on to
learn more about the other symbols with the United States Symbols
flipchart. Tricia Evans, Cindy Arnold and Becky Sexton did a
great job guiding their students in collaborative groups to finish
their research reports. Great job second grade!
Kindergarten
students were engaged with our new ACTIVotes by working with
the Blast Off with Numbers flipchart. This flipchart contains
only graphics from the resource library with the exception of
the text titles. Their are so many graphics to inspire thematic
activities within the ACTIVstudio software. The flipchart was
used as an assessment of math skills the kindergarten student
have been learning. The kindergarten students and teachers did
a great job using the ACTIVotes!
In order to download the above flipcharts follow directions below on how to save online flipcharts. |

Are you an ACTIVuser of
Shared Shapes? |
Shared Shapes |
Shared
Shapes will become one of your favorites tools when creating
engaging and dynamic flipcharts. These shapes can used in a variety
of ways. One of the most popular ways to use shapes is to create
two background colors to utilize
the magic effect of different text colors. A
simple square is used and formatted to create a flipchart as
in example 2 below. To see how this works view this short flipchart
recording by clicking here.
Be sure to follow these steps when opening this recorded flipchart.
- Select
open at the first window.
- You
will see a blank page with the recorder toolbar.
- Be
sure the recorder is set at 2 seconds.
- Select
the play button ( third button from left) to view how the flipchart was created.

ACTIVteacher Quick Tips! |
Duplicating Made Easy!
|
 |
Do
you use the duplicate tool on the object edit toolbar? What a
quick way to create the color flipcharts shared above. Once you
create the text and format for both colors, duplicate the text
to quickly create the other items on the chart. Once duplicated
use the text Formatting tool to change the text for one or both
words.
|
 |
Objects/images
can also be easily duplicated. This suitcase is located in
Shared Annotations inside the object folder. Use the paint can
to add color.

|
|
| Shared Lines! |
 |
Shared lines in the Resource Library contains many useful arrows, bullets and lines. Open Line Groups, the bottom choice, to quickly drag eight lines over when making a quick list. These can be expanded to fill the entire flipchart page.
|
 |
How
do you lock backgrounds?
|
Many
times you will want to lock the shape backgrounds or even images
and text so that student will not move them on the board as they
work.
Select
the image or text and right click. Select edit and then in the
pop out list select lock. |
