Becky Lee, Midway’s media specialist, designed and created a PowerPoint slide show to showcase all the nominee’s for the Georgia Picture Book Awards.  A scanned picture of the nominated book, a title box, and a picture of a student reviewer was included in each slide.  The student reviewers then recorded a short synopsis of their books and Mrs. Lee inserted the sound into the slides.  Mrs. Lee burned a CD to archive her hard work and recorded the slide show on a video cassette.  The finished product was aired throughout the school during morning announcements.  Students at Midway utilized the slide show to review the nominees before casting votes for the 1999 winner.    Thank you Mrs. Lee for embracing technology!

Let students collect data on the number of cities or states visited during their spring break. Instruct students on how to make a graph using chart wizard. When the charts are finished, show students how to insert a text box so that they may write about their findings. They may want to insert a graphic to show how most students traveled. Contact me if you would like some assistance in Excel!
