Objective: Students create their own Native American Rug
Procedure:
1.  Read Annie and the Old One to the class.  Discuss story meaning.
2.  In Kid Pix instruct students on first drawing a large rectangle using the rectangle tool.
3.  Using the different tool options in Wacky Brush, have students design their rug.
Extensions:
  • Print each students rug creation.  Print or glue them to a large piece of butcher paper to depict a quilt.
  • Create a slideshow using the Native American rugs.  Display the slideshow as part of a Native American Museum by using the looping feature.
  • Import the students' slides into word and have the students write a short paragraph about one of the following.
    1.  Write about Annie and what she does to delay her grandmother's death.
    2.  Would you like to have Annie as a friend?  Why or why not?
    3.  Write a different ending to the story.
