The Writing Prompt Today is.....Do your students groan when you say, "Write about your vacation"? Take pictures of their classroom/school experiences and project one on the TV and/or LCD projector. Model the writing with their input, using the 'Reach Out' method - who, where, when, why and how of the picture. Students will then write their own, answering those questions themselves. |

study of penguins, this first grader wrote a creative piece in a word
document that had been watermarked by his teacher, with a picture of
himself with the penguin. Students researched penguins and acquired the identity of different penguins. Everyday at 1:30 EST, they watched the penguins feed on a live cam from the Monterey Aquarium. Other examples

Celebrate
the Moments - Learning is Fun! |

Students love to celebrate accomplishments. This second grade read and wrote stories during cookie week. After graphing their favorite cookies, they celebrated by making hamburger cookies. Writing about the celebration and sharing their creations was a great culmination for a week of hard work. Learning can be fun! |
